My Guitar-friend
Pictured above is my beautiful classical (or “Spanish”) guitar, Isabela. I’ve had her since I was 11 years old. Since I am so attached to the instrument, I have given it a name and even refer to it as “she” or “her”. She is an Ibanez-brand guitar and she features a cut-away body as well as a pickup, so she can even be amplified! This wonderful guitar (that – as you will see – I seem to enjoy taking aesthetic photos of) isn’t a super expensive or overly lavish instrument, but it doesn’t need to be! Isabela gets the job done, and by that I mean I can play beautiful, moving tunes with her and enjoy the experience. Since I’ve had Isabela for so long, she has seen a lot of playing experience with me. I’ve played her indoors, outdoors, in concerts, on stages, with old strings, with new strings, loudly, softly, while happy, while sad, and with her have played numerous tunes both original and those written by others. She’s seen me at my worst and at my best. She’s a true friend. I highly recommend having a trusty instrument-friend by your side: one who can cheer you up when you’re down, distract you from the cares of the world, and help you see things with a different perspective. I’m grateful for my longtime guitar-friend, Isabela.
